AT SOME POINT, IT MUST STOP!!!!!
We watched for a long time, too long, as this hotel poisoned the pack of dogs in front of the hotel.
THEN, for the 5th time, and no one did anything.
After the first poisoning incident in January, we called and wrote to the manager. We offered to help find a solution. Feeding the animals far away so they wouldn’t come so close to his hotel, but he would have to remove his exposed garbage (a feeding ground for the animals). Nothing happened, not even a response – the poisoning continued.
Then we wrote to Vice President Dr. Inas and Mr. Mohamed, City Council of Sinai. But here, too, we initially encountered deaf ears.
Here are the FACTS:
January 20 – 1st poisoning – 2 dogs (Cassady dead)
January 22 – 2nd poisoning – 5 dogs all survived, two of them had to stay overnight at Dr. Albert’s and barely made it. (Murmel, Smiler, Sunny, Ears, Ernie)
February 15 – 3rd poisoning – 3 dogs again Smiler, the mother of the puppies, and Amber survived (Hugo dead)
February 20 – 4th poisoning – 2 dogs, Sunny survived (Amber dead)
February 29 – 5th poisoning – 1 dog survived.
It’s a disgrace – what is done to animals – and everyone is silent!!!!!! We also informed the City Council of Sinai, Mr. Mohamed, and called for a boycott by travel agencies.
Perhaps everything takes a moment longer in Egypt than we are used to. But Mr. Mohamed intervened and informed the Director of the Medical Association of Sharm El Sheikh, Mr. Mohamed Gharib. Although we have not yet had the pleasure of directly exchanging views with the Director, a reaction was made.
A letter from Director Gharib was presented to the manager of the hotel complex, informing him that if even a single dog were poisoned again, he could expect an OFFICIAL CHARGE BEFORE COURT. He had to sign the letter.
SINCE THEN, THERE HAS BEEN PEACE!
The few dogs that are left can now live their lives without danger. This with the support of those who continue to lovingly care for the animals and give them not only cuddles but also food.
