The story of Josie, originally known as “Selma,” is one that touches all of us. In August 2024, I, Yasmine, along with Dr. Mohamed from the Vet Chamber, had a meeting with a hotel in Sharm El Sheikh where the horse was once kept in terrible condition. Her skin was peeling off, she was emaciated and dehydrated. Josie required five months of intensive care before she returned to her normal self.
Thanks to the collaboration, we were able to bring Josie to Sahara Stable Sharm, where she is now being lovingly cared for. The wonderful team at the stable even renamed her, and she now lives a carefree life, without the need to work. Her new name is Josie, and she is in the best hands.
Sahara Stable Sharm is located in the beautiful National Park in Nabq, and the team there has been devoted to Josie’s care. From day one, she received the medical attention she desperately needed. Jo and Alison, who run the stable, have poured their hearts into Josie’s care, and thanks to their loving attention, she has made remarkable progress. Her skin is healing, and Josie now lives a happy life, one she truly deserves.
A special thank you goes to Alison and Jo from Sahara Stable Sharm, who rescued Josie and helped her return to health. Also, an anonymous donor generously covered the full cost of Josie’s treatment – a true hero who understands the value of kindness and responsibility.
Josie is now on the path to full recovery, and it’s remarkable to see how much she has improved. We have videos showing how she has transformed – from her poor condition to the vibrant Josie we know today.
